Stop Subsidizing Obesity

Nearly one in three kids in Wisconsin is overweight or obese, yet taxpayers spend billions of dollars a year subsidizing junk food.

We could stop underwriting the epidemic of childhood obesity—and save $28 billion over the next 10 years—if Congress adopts a proposal to cut the subsidies that, among other things, help make corn syrup and trans fats cheaper than real food.

Nuclear Power: Too Risky

Nuclear Power is inherently dangerous, potentially catastrophic, and a terrible investment for our country, and the nuclear crisis in Japan is the most recent example of that troubling reality.

More than 108 million Americans live within 50 miles of a nuclear power plant plant—of which there are 104 currently operating in United States. We're working to make sure the government minimizes the risk from our existing nuclear power plants right away and stops construction of any new plants.
