2 YEARS TO MAKE AN IMPACT

Solving Problems

Impact is a campaign team that works to win positive change for our environment, our democracy and our future.

Issues That Matter

Solving Problems

Global warming, clean water, big money’s influence over our democracy – Impact runs action campaigns on the most important issues of our time.

SMART CAMPAIGNS

Solving Problems

To make an impact, you need to be strategic: Our organizers go where the fight is, grab the public’s attention, and move key constituencies to act.

Take Action

As a campaign organizer with Impact, you’ll run campaigns – but instead of electing a candidate, you’ll work to win concrete change on global warming, clean water and other issues. Working in carefully targeted cities and states, you’ll organize and run news conferences, build coalitions of like-minded leaders and groups, and get key constituencies involved. But there’s more to it than that.

Find out how you make an impact.

It’s all about impact

Everything we do is designed to create the action, energy and power it takes to make an impact on important issues. Working with established groups like Environment America, the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRG) and Fair Share, we come up with smart, strategic campaigns. What do we mean by smart and strategic?

Here’s more on our strategy.

Work That Matters

Whether America cracks down on global warming pollution will depend on whether climate defenders speak louder than climate deniers. Whether we end the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms will depend on who has more influence: big agribusinesses or the public health community.

How has Impact helped tip the balance?

Campaign Update

McDonald’s takes a 'super-sized' step to cut overuse of antibiotics in chicken

In March, McDonald’s announced a new policy to curb the overuse of antibiotics in raising the chickens that ultimately become McNuggets or other McDonald’s products. Within two years, farming operations supplying McDonald’s USA restaurants will not be allowed to use medically important antibiotics on their chickens, a practice that is now commonplace, even when animals are healthy. Impact organizers with U.S. PIRG have been running a national campaign asking McDonald’s to help tackle the growing public health crisis of antibiotic resistance by switching to meat raised without the routine use of antibiotics.
